Why are you running?
I am running for the PMI Phoenix Chapter Board because I believe in the power of project management to transform organizations, communities, and individual careers. As a long-time PMP and current Department Chair of Computer Science at Yavapai College, I have seen firsthand how effective project management creates opportunities for growth and innovation.
I want to serve as a voice for professionals in northern Arizona, ensuring their perspectives are represented within the Chapter while strengthening connections across the state. My goal is to help advance the profession through mentorship, education, and outreach, creating pathways for the next generation of project leaders.
By serving on the Board, I hope to contribute my leadership, academic, and community experience to expand the Chapter’s impact and foster a stronger, more inclusive project management community in Arizona.

What specific personal talents, skills, or experience will you bring to the PMI Arizona Chapter?
I bring a unique blend of academic leadership, project management expertise, and community engagement experience to the PMI Arizona Chapter. As Department Chair of Computer Science at Yavapai College, I lead faculty, manage programs, and oversee strategic initiatives, including the successful rollout of a new Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree. These responsibilities require strong project management, collaboration, and organizational skills that align closely with PMI’s mission. I have been a PMP since 2017 and have applied project management principles across both higher education and community-based initiatives. My work on local boards and committees, including the Kiwanis scholarship committee, reflects my commitment to service, mentorship, and creating opportunities for others. I also bring communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills that will support the Chapter in growing its impact statewide. Most importantly, I can represent and connect northern Arizona’s project management community to the broader Phoenix Chapter.

How do you envision the new AZ Chapter fostering inclusivity and delivering meaningful value to all members?
I envision the new Arizona Chapter as a statewide network that actively builds bridges between regions, industries, and professional backgrounds. Inclusivity begins with representation, ensuring that members across the state, including those in northern and rural communities, feel seen, heard, and supported. As a Board member, I would advocate for expanding engagement beyond Phoenix through hybrid events, regional meetups, and digital resources that allow all members equal access to professional development opportunities.
Delivering meaningful value means aligning offerings with the diverse needs of our members. This includes providing access to educational programs, mentorship opportunities, and networking events that serve professionals at every career stage. It also means listening intently to members to identify gaps and tailoring initiatives to meet them.
I believe the Chapter can also strengthen inclusivity by fostering connections between industries, from technology and healthcare to construction and education, recognizing the breadth of project management’s impact. By cultivating a culture of mentorship, encouraging diverse voices, and embracing innovative ways to connect, the Chapter can help members feel a sense of belonging and, we hope, discover real value and growth within PMI Arizona.
