ProjectMasters Toastmasters
Meeting Synopsis: Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization founded in 1924, which has grown to over 357,000 members in 16,600 clubs in 143 countries. In 2006, the Phoenix Chapter of PMI sponsored the chartering of ProjectMasters Toastmasters Club, an “open” club where both PMI members and the general public are welcome.
The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member can develop oral communication and leadership skills, fostering self-confidence and personal growth.
You are encouraged to attend a meeting and see what we’re all about!
Speaker(s): Up to three club members present prepared speeches at each meeting, which are evaluated by fellow members mentioning their strengths and making at least one suggestion for improvement. There is also a segment in which members and guests are invited to practice extemporaneous speaking by answering questions asked by the Table Topics Master.
A one-time New Member fee of $20.00 registers the new member with Toastmasters International and provides the first "Path" in the Pathways program.
PDUs (Professional Development Units): Club members may claim 1.5 PDUs per meeting. Guests may claim one meeting’s PDUs.
Registration: No registration is required; Attend!
Cancellation Policy: N/A
Notice: Guests are welcome to attend as often as they want before joining. However, PDUs may only be claimed for one meeting at which one is a guest. After that, one must become a member to claim PDUs.
