Building a Unified Chapter for All of Arizona

The PMI Arizona Chapter is being formed through the unification of the PMI Phoenix and PMI Tucson Chapters to strengthen project management support across the entire state. This page serves as the central source of information about the formation process, timelines, and opportunities to get involved. Between now and December 31, 2025, both the PMI Phoenix and PMI Tucson Chapters will continue to operate independently while we complete the necessary steps to launch the new chapter. One of the steps will be developing a new website that will be on the pmiaz.org domain.  Until the site is ready, this page will serve as the repository for information on the transition status. The PMI Arizona Chapter will officially begin operations in mid to later January 2026 (depending on PMI Global). We encourage all current and future members to stay informed, participate in the transition, and help us shape the future of PMI in Arizona.

Why Unify?

The decision to form the PMI Arizona Chapter reflects our shared commitment to:

  • Enhancing statewide access to professional development, networking, and volunteer opportunities
  • Streamlining operations to better serve members and reduce duplication of efforts
  • Fostering collaboration among project professionals from every corner of the state
  • Expanding support through localized programming in three new branches:
    • Northern Branch: Prescott, Sedona, Flagstaff, and all cities north of Black Canyon City
    • Central Branch: Phoenix Metro and surrounding cities
    • Southern Branch: Tucson, Yuma, Sierra Vista, and cities south of the Phoenix Metro area

Transition Timeline Through End of 2025

Here’s what to expect as we prepare for the new chapter to launch:

  • November–December: Final onboarding, chapter setup, and strategic alignment
  • Mid to later January, 2026: PMI Arizona Chapter becomes fully operational

Programs and events will continue as scheduled through PMI Phoenix and PMI Tucson until the new chapter has the new members loaded in mid to later January 2026.
