Dr. Sean Ryan, PhD, PMP is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Arizona State University, teaching courses in Project Management and Organizational Leadership. Previously he taught Strategy and Policy, Strategic Planning, Management, Organizational Behavior, and Public and Non-profit Management. Dr. Ryan spent 30 years in the Army, retiring in 2012 as a Colonel. His international experience included collaborative interagency projects in Asia, the Middle East, Southwest Asia, and the Americas. Sean also worked in the healthcare industry in IT and finance on a variety of projects supporting client hospitals throughout the United States. He held positions as a Senior Installation Director at Shared Medical Systems and Consulting Manager at First Consulting Group, where he planned, led, and managed projects. He also worked on projects in defense and construction. He earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and Change, a Masters in Strategy Studies, and an MBA, in addition to a BS degree from West Point. Sean received numerous awards, including a Professor of Impact Award for mentoring project management students at Arizona State University. He envisions improving the partnership between ASU, PMI-PHX, and local employers and looks forward to serving PMI-PHX in whatever capacity is needed.
